Why Are We Not Addressing This: Up And Coming Rapper Gets 30 years for Rap Battle Murder

I don't know what is worst the fact that he in 2008 you can walk up to someone in broad day light shoot their noodles in and only get 30 years. WOW he had a great lawyer cause 30 years for cold blooded murder is a deal.

In case you haven't herd early last week Mr. Samuel Raynard Jones, 20, pleaded guilty Wednesday in a Fort Worth courtroom to engaging in organized criminal activity.

Jones fatally shot 17-year-old Christopher Smith on Sept. 15, 2006 in a field in the 5700 block of Diamond Oaks Drive South in Haltom City.

The two had met at a local field that was hosting emcee battles. Apparently Mr. Raynard lost because as Christopher packed his things he was shot once in the back of the head. What a sad since less way for a 17 year old child to loose his life.

I don't even see why people still competitively battle rap. You do not gain anything except bragging rights. Some battles have cash prices but those are far and in between. Battle rappers hardly excel in the music industry. Its to the point where battle rapping is more dangerous then it is rewarding.

We have all watched the infamous "because im styling on you" when a battler was losing and couldn't control his anger punched dude in the face and as the crowd began to scrambled Mr "Im stylin on you" reacher for a ratchet he couldn't pull in the mayhem.

The music industry is getting out of hand. The fake thug images the drugs and the fake lifestyle glorified in these records push good kids to the wrong side and its sad. Ice Cube said it best, hip-hop made me do it. In his song he was being sarcastic saying the media has nothing else to blame so lets blame hip-hop but Id have to disagree because hip-hop does play a part in these life changing events that happen to our young people.

REST IN PEACE CHRIS SMITH another victim of hip-hop violence....
